If you have ever been to Mexico’s Caribbean coast, or anywhere in the Caribbean for that matter, you’ve probably seen how incredibly clear the water is. Even if you haven’t been, you’ve almost definitely heard about it and seen pictures. For proof and more information, check out our Cozumel Travel Guide. After being to dozens of islands all around the Caribbean, I can honestly say that the water in Cozumel is some of the best water in the entire Caribbean Sea! If you’re taking the time to journey to a place with water as beautiful as this, you owe it to yourself to maximize your experience with some water-based activities.

For us, this meant snorkeling. While there is a ton of incredible scuba diving in Cozumel, we opted to take the more relaxed snorkeling route. This way we could get the best of both worlds – swimming with marine life in crystal clear water and relaxing on a boat with some beers and friends! After scouring the internet for the best snorkeling tours in Cozumel and consulting with some friends who know the area like experts, we stumbled upon Alex and his crew at Bavarian Fiesta. Clearly, the experience was blog-worthy!

In our snorkeling tour we interacted with marine life, partied on board with German beer and Mexican snacks, and strolled on private beaches.

Who Is the Best Snorkeling Provider in Cozumel, Mexico?

After scouring the internet for the best snorkeling tours in Cozumel and consulting with some friends who know the area like experts, we stumbled upon Alex and his crew at Bavarian Fiesta. Clearly, the experience was blog-worthy!

The ocean water in Cozumel is the clearest and bluest water in Mexico.

Honestly, this tour was one of the highlights of our most recent trip to Cozumel. We reached out to Alex on Whatsapp and booked a 4-hour private tour. When you book a tour with Alex, the price includes the boat ride and snorkeling equipment, bottomless beers, and a generous share of food. Alex proudly hails from Munich, and he takes pride in his Lederhosen bathing suit offering true German beers on his tours (this explains the name of the company!). His number is +52 984 209 6696 and if you text him on Whatsapp, he’ll gladly give you all the details on what beers he offers and what food he brings on board.

What Is Included When You Snorkel with Bavarian Fiesta?

The only cost that isn’t included in your ticket price is whatever gratuities you choose to give to his crew. This is a huge plus, because most tour operators will quote you one price while neglecting to tell you about all the fine print, which might include limits on drinks, extra costs for snorkeling gear, etc.

All Bavarian Fiesta Tours are All-Inclusive. Most other tour providers have hidden costs that they don’t tell you until after booking, when it’s too late to cancel.

When you go on a tour with Bavarian Fiesta, you’ll get to check out some of the greatest snorkeling spots in the reef around the island, including shipwrecks and tons of marine life. Depending on the time of year and if you’re lucky, you may even see sea turtles! On our tour we saw a barracuda, eels, starfish, a manta ray, and tons of other small fish, but sadly no sea turtles. Hopefully, you’ll have better luck! Missing out on the sea turtles was only a minor setback to an absolutely incredible day (and nothing a few ice-cold German beers couldn’t fix!)

The Best Place to Eat After Snorkeling in Cozumel

Alex’s wife, Frida, owns an awesome restaurant in the center of town, and you definitely don’t want to miss it. The restaurant is named Frida’s Restaurant Bar, and it is a fantastic way to cap off your snorkeling day (or to grab lunch if you’re doing an afternoon snorkeling tour). The food and drinks are delicious, the wait staff is super friendly, and Alex and Frida are simply amazing people. The restaurant and the port of the snorkeling tour are about 20 minutes apart by foot or 5 minutes by car, and the taxi shouldn’t run you any more than 100 pesos or 5 dollars.

You can find Alex on Instagram @bavarianfiesta or you can check out his website at bavarianfiesta.com. If you’re interested in more information or want to book your spot, you can text him directly on Whatsapp at +52 984 209 6696. We get no commission or kickbacks for this post – we just had such a great time that we wanted to share so that you can have a great time, too! If you’re interested in reading more reviews of Bavarian Fiesta, check out their Tripadvisor page where they have a 100% 5-star rating after 15 reviews.
