Belgium is a small country in Western Europe that is best known for its waffles. If you ask me, it should be even better known for inventing French Fries! In addition to Belgian waffles and French fries, Belgium is also known worldwide for its production of heavy-hitting beers with high alcohol-contents, and visiting a Belgian beer hall is a must when you visit Belgium.
Belgium’s capital city of Brussels is a really exciting place to visit, and it also serves as the seat of the European Union. By default, this makes Brussels a very international city. Belgium as a whole feels like a confluence of French, German, and Dutch cultures, and this is evident in its adoption of all three as official languages. While it has been largely influenced by each of these three countries, there is plenty that makes Belgium unique, and it is absolutely worth visiting while exploring Western Europe!
