There is only one country where you can watch the sun rise over the Pacific Ocean and set over the Atlantic Ocean.
This country is Panama.
Shaped like a banana with the Pacific to the west and the Atlantic to the right, Panama’s modern identity is most often associated with the Panama Canal. The Panama Canal is the only waterway that cuts directly through the Americas, linking the Pacific and the Atlantic, and it is one of the main reasons that Panama has prospered as a nation in modern times.
Its capital, Panama City, is a gorgeous city filled with life and fun things to do. Due to Panama’s international importance, Panama City is a very international place filled with people from all over the world. Casco Antiguo, which is basically the “old city,” is absolutely beautiful and should not be missed while visiting Panama City. While Panama City is certainly Panama’s main hub, there are many other regions of Panama – like Boquete and Bocas del Toro – that should not be missed. If you enjoy hiking, catching a sunrise at the Cerro de Los Picachos in Ola is a must.
