To us, the biggest draw in Singapore is its use of English. While navigating foreign languages adds a rich layer of cultural to any international experience, we think that Singapore’s use of English makes it one of the most accessible Asian nations in the world for westerners. There is so much to explore when visiting large Asian nations, but our unfamiliarity with languages like Mandarin and Malay has always limited our experiences. Singapore is a place where you can gain an intimate experience in a local market or street food stall without the need for a translator.
