Malaysia

Have you ever gone to a temple filled with monkeys and peacocks?

You can do this in Malaysia.

Malaysia is one of the biggest countries in Southern Asia, and it is one of the most biodiverse ones as well. Known globally for its abundant wildlife, rich culinary scene, cosmopolitan capital of Kuala Lumpur and the tallest twin towers in the world, Malaysia is worth adding to any Southern Asian itinerary.

One of our favorite aspects about Malaysia was the visible religious devotion of the Malaysian people. From its large Muslim community to its small but mighty Catholic cohort, we were amazed by the fiery love that Malaysians have for their faith. One of our favorite memories in Kuala Lumpur is of a Corpus Christi parade, where local Catholic believers paraded through the streets adoring the Blessed Sacrament. No matter where you look in Malaysia you will find devoutly religious people, whether that religion is Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, or Hinduism.
